Planning a family trip that works for three generations

21 Aug 2026·5 min read
Multi-generation trips fail on pace, not on destination. Grandparents need shorter days, children need earlier meals, and everyone needs a place to sit down. Choose one hotel and do day trips from it wherever possible. Repacking every second night is the single fastest way to exhaust a family group. Book the big attraction on day two, not day one. Jet lag and travel fatigue on the first day turn a great experience into a queue. Finally, check food. Easy vegetarian access, familiar breakfast options and a kettle in the room solve more problems than an extra star of hotel rating.
